Day 1: Greater Niagara Loop

I recently went on a solo bicycle adventure in Ontario, where I cycled an average of 85 miles per day for nine consecutive days – 770 miles in total – and logged two centuries, including a personal best 109 miles from Wiarton to Tobermory and back again!

We have a beautiful province with some incredible views and impressive cycling infrastructure and I hope to keep exploring it in the years ahead.

Day 1 of my journey saw me cycle 90 miles over eight hours and complete the Greater Niagara Circle Route, which includes the Welland Canal Parkway Trail, the Fort Erie Friendship Trail, the Waterfront Trail and the Niagara River Recreation Trail.

There were some fantastic sights along the way, including a stop at the Manic Maker Café in the Bridgeburg community of Fort Erie and, of course, the rainbows and mist of Niagara Falls!
